Sebi's 2nd birthday

When Sebi woke up, he came downstairs and found his first present.

It was a scooter!! He loved it.

And Lucas loved it too.

Later that day, we had a small birthday party. Sebi was waiting for the moment when everyone would sing "happy birthday."
Then came the candles.

Sebi has been eating a lot of oatmeal this winter and has excellent practice at blowing now. He had no problem blowing out all of the candles. Yummy cake.

Sunday on the town

Sebi inherited Lucas bike today. Lucas got a bigger one with pedals. This is his maiden voyage to the bike store.

We played badminton in the park. It got a little warm out. Sebi thinks that his hit was really in bounds, despite what his brother called.

Lucas enjoyed taking his aqua shoes into the rocky ocean.

Lucas waits for Sebi to play another round.

Crab hunting in the afternoon

This afternoon, we went to the Barnett Marine Park which is also on the Burrard Inlet, right below Burnaby Mountain. We walked along the beach...

...and saw this very nice herron come in and perch.

Lucas is very obsessed with crabs (finding them and eating them). Pablo showed him how there were tiny crabs running around in the mud and shells.

Lucas quickly got the hang of flipping over the rocks and looking for movement.
Victorious--here is his tiny crab. Lucas said that he would like to stay looking for crabs all day and not have it get late.

Port Moody in the morning

We went to Porty Moody this morning. It's the town directly east of us on the Burrard inlet. There is a pier there and we went to look for people pulling up their crab pots. Lucas rode his bike to the end of the pier.

We live on top of the mountain in the background of the photo below. It is hard to see, but there are some bumps on top of that mountainm, which are the apt. buildings next to ours.

Pablo and Sebi considering the ducks who dive for food.

Both boys rode their vehicles. There is a nice paved bike path that runs along the water.

It would have been great to walk along the path more, but there is a park near the pier, so we didn't make it far.
