Lucas's Art Project

Lucas is being promoted to the two year old classroom full time next week. This week and last week, he has been visiting for 1/2 days. Yesterday, while he was there, they made birds in art class. Here is a picture of Lucas's bird.

Pablo's Birthday

Hicimos un asado para el cumpleanos de Pablo. Pia, Daniel, Axel, Lucian, Karla, Sebastian, Sofia, y Benjamin celebraron con nosotros. Axel ayudo a poner las velas en la torta y hizo correr la bola entre los mas bajitos de que habia torta de chocolate en la cocina. Cuando terminamos de comer, los chicos corrieron entre la cocina y el living gritando "torta" cada vez que llegaban a la mesada donde se encontraba susodicho tesoro. Al final Pablo le puso tan insoportable corriendo entre el living y el cocina que tuvimos que cortar la torta.

We had an asado for Pablo's birthday. Pia, Daniel, Axel and Lucian came over and joined us (Pablo, Nicole, Lucas, Karla, Sebastian, Sofia and Benji). Axel had helped put the candles on the cake, and alerted the other short people that there was a yummy chocolate dessert on the counter. Once they finished eating, they ran back and forth into the kitchen and over to the counter shouting "cake" everytime they got there. Finally, the adults were done eating and the cake was brought out.



La torta llega al son del "cumpleanos feliz." Y contamos las velas.

The cake comes out with the birthday song. We counted the candels.



Pablo sopla.....

....pedi tres desos!!!
....and the candles went out. Make a wish!!!



Pia encendio las velas nuevamente para los chicos.
Pia relit the candles so that the kids could blow them out.


Y Sofia fue la que mas fuerte soplo.
And Sofia blew the hardest of all.

Lucas & el Gnomo/ Lucas and the Gnome

Lucas tiene un titere gnomo que le hizo el tio Javi. Cuando era mas chico, Lucas le tenia miedo al gnomo, pero ahora se hicieron muy buenos amigos..../Lucas has a gnome puppet that his Tio Javier made for him. When he was younger, he was afraid of the gnome, but now they are best friends....



Caminando por el living, Lucas encuentra al gnomo./Walking through the living room, Lucas runs into the gnome.



Se saludan. /They greet eachother.



Conversan./ They have a nice conversation.



Lucas le pide que lo deje tocar su oreja./Lucas finally asks if he can touch the gnome's ear.



Y el gnomo, tan generoso que es, le permite tocar sus dos orejas./The gnome, being the generous gnome that his is, lets him touch both.



Ya que son tan buenos amigos, Lucas despide al gnomo con un beso./ Seeing that they are so close, Lucas gives the gnome a big kiss goodbye.

Thanksgiving

The house was full for Thanksgiving. We had an extravagent meal with turkey and ham and all of the yummies that go with it. Our friends Sebastian and Karla arrived on Thursday afternoon from Chicago with Sofia (3 years old) and Benji (10 months). Pablo's advisor Barry and his wife Paula also flew in that afternoon, making sure that the adults were not be outnumbered. Pia, Daniel, Axel and Lucian showed up after nap time and we ate.



Luckily, the kids made good use of Lucas's table and ate at their own speed and with their own style.



Barry and Paula enjoyed their meal.



Sebastian and Karla ate while Benji slept upstairs.



Lucian joined us at the big person's table (much to Lucas's chagrin, as he wanted to sit in his normal seat).



For entertainment, the kids took turns pushing eachother around.

Lucas takes his baby on a paseo/ Lucas le da un paseo a su bebe

Today when Lucas got home he drove his "auto" around the house for a while, very much enjoying himself. He decided that he would like his baby to have a chance to ride the auto too, but baby is very small. So he loaded up the baby and the stroller on top of the auto.

Hoy cuando Lucas vino a casa manejo su "auto" alredador de la casa, disfrutandolo mucho. Luego se dio cuenta que su bebe quizas quiseria pasear en su auto tambien, pero su bebe es muy pequeno. Entonces decidio poner a su bebe en su carrito todo junto encima de su auto.



And they were ready to go....

Y asi salieron a pasear.....

A visit from the grandparents!!

JB and Cynthia visited over the weekend. We were all impressed that Lucas remembered them so well.



Lucas tries to train Cynthia in his favorite game on the ball.



Cynthia finally gets how to play "bouncy bouncy" and much fun is had by all.

With all of the family and friends who live at a distance, Lucas spends much time keeping in touch through the phone.
